ASHBROOKE Belford House gained a welcome 3-1 victory over Leam Rangers last night to move up to eighth bottom spot in the Wearside League.
Mark Green gave Belford a dream start when he back-heeled the ball into the net after just nine minutes, but it wasn’t until the 65th minute that Tommy Dobbing’s side added a second goal.
Green was again the marksman, this time with a clinical finish from inside the penalty area. But, within a minute, Leam were back in the game as Paul Brewis drove past goalkeeper Brett Wilson.
The outcome was on a knife-edge until Mikey Wharton volleyed wide of Leam goalkeeper Scott Smith for the crucial third goal 10 minutes from time.
