Leeds keep an eye on old boy Kilgallon

Have your say

Leeds United are keeping a watching brief on the situation of central defender Matt Kilgallon, who has entered the last year of his contract at Sunderland.

Kilgallon, who played for Leeds earlier in his career, wants to stay at Sunderland after playing his way into the side and impressing Martin O’Neill enough to be involved in seven of the last eight games of last season.

But O’Neill faces decisions over centre-halves this summer – when everyone is fit he has five centre-halves pushing for a first-team place, Wes Brown, John O’Shea, Titus Bramble, Michael Turner and Kilgallon – and is likely to want to offload at least one this summer.
