Sunderland U18s fought back from a two-goal deficit to beat second-placed Stoke with a last-minute winner in a five-goal thriller at the Academy of Light today, writes Neville Pilkington.

Jack Nardiello and Kris Scott had the Potters on top, but a brilliant Callum Hope double and a Mikael Mandron penalty saw Craig Liddle’s lads turned it around in dramatic fashion.

Newcastle came from behind to beat Aston Villa 2-1, thanks to Alex Gilliead and Alex Kitchen.
