A WEARSIDE youth team are going for a historic treble after already winning two cups this season.
Herrington Colliery Welfare Under-14s have already secured the County Cup and the League Cup and are also in the running to win the Premier Division title as the season draws to a close.
The team beat Consett Chiefs 1-0 in the County Cup final at the Riverside in Chester-le-Street, before defeating Easington Colliery by the same scoreline in the League Cup showdown at the Russell Foster
centre, in Newbottle.
Striker Jason Jones scored both winners.
Secretary of the team, Ann-Marie Sproston, said: “Everyone associatedwith Herrington CW are very proud of what the lads have achieved this season.”
