Rakish Bingham has been crowned the best finisher at Hartlepool United – with manager Ronnie Moore tipping him to hit the goal trail this season.
The ex-Mansfield Town striker has been in red hot form over the course of pre-season, netting six goals for Pools.
Moore has heaped praise on the 21-year-old, who re-joined the club on a permanent basis in the summer after a loan spell last season, with the Pools boss banking on Bingham to be his leading man this campaign.
Bingham scored twice against Billingham Town, netted a hat-trick against Gateshead and scored again in the 3-0 win over Dunston UTS.
Overall, Moore has been happy with his strikers, with just over a week to go until the new League Two season kicks off against Morecambe.
“I have been very pleased with Rakish, we all know what he is about,” Moore said.
“He is probably the best finisher at the club and he will always get you goals.
“I know there are goals in Bings, we have seen that this pre-season. We are not worried about that part of our play.
“The midfield three have done reasonably well too, whoever has played in there.
“I have been pleased with Michael Woods this week, he is looking really well.
“There were two or three rascal tackles that tested him [at Gateshead] but at least he knows he is okay. You don’t want it all right until you kick off but we still have a lot of hard work to do.
“It is about getting that understanding in there,” added Moore ahead of tomorrow’s visit of League One Chesterfield.
Boss Dean Saunders will be bringing a strong squad, including ex-Pools legend Ritchie Humphreys.
