The 21-year-old’s sterling efforts throughout the month contributed to the club’s impressive turn of form, which saw the Pools go on a four match unbeaten run to pull out of the League Two drop zone.

Alongside his defensive work, the centre-half also provided a match-winning goal against Cambridge during the sequence, securing a vital three points.

The former Sunderland player initially joined the Pools on loan in the tail end of the 2013-14 season, making six appearances for the club.

He re-joined Pools for month-loan spells the following season in August and January before finally signing on a permanent deal.

Speaking about the accolade, Harrison said: “Winning awards makes you proud of what you’re doing.

“It’s good to be recognised if you’re playing well, but I’ve never really won awards before - the last time I did was playing for my Sunday league team.

“It’s massive for me; my family and friends are so proud. It’s great to win ahead of players across the Football League who have played unbelievably.”
