Nathan Thomas was brought in for his Hartlepool United debut this afternoon against Wycombe Wanderers.
Signed in midweek from Mansfield Town for an undisclosed fee, the 21-year-old replaced Lewis Hawkins, who could count himself extremely unlucky to be left out.
Hawkins was man of the match against Derby County in the FA Cup third round just seven days ago but stepped down to the bench against the high-flying Wanderers.
It was the only change to the Pools side which performed so well against the Rams.
Matthew Bates was still missing with a toe problem.
