RONNIE Moore has completed his third signing of the day at Hartlepool United.
Sunderland defender Scott Harrison, who had been training with Pools this week, has joined on loan until the end of the season.
The Black Cats had already given their blessing for the 21-year-old to join Pools again but Moore explained this week that he was reluctant to sign a player he had not seen in a match situation.
But that has either been resolved or he’s been satisfied with what he’s seen of the Middlesbrough-born centre-half on the training ground.
Harrison will be in the Pools squad for Saturday’s game against promotion-chasing Wycombe Wanderers.
He had already let the cat out the bag somewhat that he was in the squad at Adams Park by tweeting from the team hotel.
But it is good news for Pools to have a player of his calibre back in a defence which has been leaky to say the least.
Pools have already added two loan signings in striker Rakish Bingham, from Mansfield Town, and Reading midfield Aaron Tshibola.
Speaking in SportMail on New Year’s Day, Moore said he felt “sorry” that Harrison was somewhat in limbo.
“I’m not going to sign anyone who I haven’t seen or know about,” Moore was quoted as saying.
“To be fair, Sunderland have allowed him to come in and train and been brilliant with us.
“But they aren’t going to wait forever because there are other clubs out there [who will be interested in taking him].
“I’ve wanted to see him in a couple of games this week, but you can’t get on the bloomin’ pitches.
“Scotty wants to know what’s going on and he is keen enough.
“Sam Collins speaks highly enough of him and said he played well last season with him, may be not as good this season.
“But he’s a big strong lad with a little bit of pace.
“At this moment in time I cannot say yes or no, I just need to make sure in my mind by seeing him play.”
