ON-LOAN duo Charlie Wyke and Scott Harrison are set to return to their parent clubs once their loan spells finish at Hartlepool United.

The pair are due to play their last match of the current loan spell this weekend, when bottom-side Pools host York City at Victoria Park on Saturday (KO 3pm).

Pools boss Paul Murray has said he is keen to keep the pair, both 21, beyond their existing loan spells.

But as things stand striker Wyke will be returning to Middlesbrough and defender Harrison to Sunderland after the weekend.

Speaking at this morning’s press conference, Murray said: “I’d like them to come back.

“They’re going back to their parent clubs at the minute, we’re in discussions about what’s going to happen on their futures.

“Whether they’re with us or not, we’ll be discussing it.”

The Pools manager is also still looking to add further new faces to his struggling squad.

So far midfielders Nicky Featherstone and Sidney Schmeltz plus Scott Fenwick have been signed since Murray took charge, with promise of more to come although that seems unlikely to be before York visit.

Murray added: “They’re ticking over, but we’ve still not got them in yet.

“We’re looking at all options. You never know, something might crop up.”
