RONNIE Moore has confirmed Hartlepool United won’t be signing three trialists as the search continues for new blood.
The Pools boss said Slovenian trialists Danijel Jurisic and Denis Mesic and Scouse midfielder Danny Ventre have left the club, as revealed by SportMail today.
The trio all played the full 90 minutes in the reserves’ 1-1 draw at Burton Albion on Wednesday.
“Nobody impressed,” said Moore.
“We had three in on trial, which is another way to look at players.
“We won’t be keeping any of them, sometimes you can touch lucky and it works, but it’s not worked for us.”
Moore, speaking ahead of the visit of Cheltenham Town on Saturday, said work remains ongoing to bring in the new players desperately needed.
“We are still trying to add to it,” said Moore.
“We have had players who have gone somewhere else.
“We need two in - at least - to make us better and we are desperately trying for a new striker – a targetman who can score goals.
“But we stay positive and I’ve seen a lot of good things from last Saturday.”
Cheltenham will have Liverpool loan trio Jack Dunn, Lloyd Jones and Kevin Stewart available after they all debuted in the 2-1 win at Oxford United.
Moore added: “Cheltenham have signed three from Liverpool and three good players at that.
“I tried to get Jones in here, and the players will make them better.
“But we know how they play – it’s about what we do and we haven’t put the opposition on the back foot at home like we should be.
“We’ve had over 4,000 in the last two home games and not performed.
“That support shows everyone wants to get out of this mess and now can the players believe?”
