PAUL Murray has demanded his Hartlepool United side “cut out the errors” against league leaders Wycombe Wanderers.

Gareth Ainsworth’s Chairboys have won three out of their last four in all competitions and head to Victoria Park full of confidence.

Murray insists it is a game his side can “look forward” to but wants them to cut out individual errors if they are to get anything from the match (KO 3pm).

Last weekend’s 3-1 home defeat to York City saw the gap between bottom side Pools and safety increase to six points, seven in reality with the goal difference.

Murray admitted: “Of course I am worried about the gap. We have discussed it but it’s about individual errors, cut those out and we will score goals.

“We have been working hard this week on it, making it basic and simple in what we do.

“We have been going over the goals we have conceded in the last four league games and they are all individual errors.

“No-one has cut through us, the last goal against York apart, when we were on the front foot.

“The onus is on us at home to go and get a result and a win would boost us all – that’s what it’s all about. They are top, we are bottom, let’s turn it around.

“It’s going to be a real difficult game, but we will have a go.”

Confidence remains high in the camp though insists Murray.

He added: “The players have always been bright and confident and training has been good but we have to take it into tomorrow.

“We have to do everything at 100 per cent, everything about the game, cover all your bases.”

Murray is still sweating on the fitness of right-back Michael Duckworth who went off with a groin injury in the 3-1 York City defeat.

“We are hoping it won’t be too long because he is a big part of our plans,” added Murray.

Midfielder Tommy Miller has been out for a month with a calf injury and is due back in training but this weekend comes too soon.

Long-term absentees Jack Compton (knee) and Stuart Parnaby (knee) also miss out.
