Bingham’s ‘privilege’ to play with Harewood at Hartlepool United

Hartlepool United boss Ronnie Moore is desperately trying to add further firepower to his current options of Bingham, Harewood and Scott Fenwick with Plymouth Argyle striker Marvin Morgan high on the wanted list.

But while the search continues, 21-year-old Bingham is enjoying getting game time and trying to help Pools bridge the nine-point gap to safety.

Bingham is on loan from Mansfield Town until the end of the season and is relishing the chance to work with 35-year-old Harewood, who used to play in the Premier League with West Ham United and Aston Villa.

“It is a great experience to be playing alongside and training with Marlon Harewood, someone who has great experience,” Bingham told SportMail.

“There is no better way.

“He has played at the highest level, the Premier League, for a number of years and I just want to learn from him while I am here.

“It has been a privilege working with him.

“There is more competition than there was before at the club but there is no negative energy at all among us.

“Marlon obviously missed three games through suspension but he was always giving us support and showing me and Scott what to do.

“He tells us how to do things and how to make life easier as a striker, things that we wouldn’t necessarily know.

“We have a great bond though and we are all very positive.”

Bingham has also been enjoying working under Moore and assistant manager Sam Collins.

He told SportMail: “Since the moment I came in the manager has given me a lot of support, along with Sam Collins, and they have both encouraged me.

“It is different learning under new managers because you get different styles but I like that and it is just a case of taking it all on board.

“I am very critical of myself and feel like I can always get better.

“I have not done badly but I certainly have more to offer.”

Bingham is good friends with Aaron Tshibola and the striker says it was a nice surprise to see his pal sign on loan on the same day.

Tshibola joined from Reading on a month-long loan deal but Moore is hoping to extend that until the end of the season.

Bingham added: “I stay with Tish in an apartment and everywhere I go, he goes and vice versa.

“I’d heard rumblings he may sign on loan as well so for it to happen at the same time was crazy.”

l RONNIE Moore ran the rule over Plymouth Argyle’s Marvin Morgan at Home Park on Tuesday afternoon, the 6ft 4in forward scoring twice in a reserve cup tie against Newport County.

The 31-year-old was making his return after a spell out injured with an abdominal muscle strain.

Argyle manager John Sheridan has previously said he would not stand in the way of Morgan, who has scored twice this season, making a loan move to Hartlepool if he wanted to.

The two sides play each other at Victoria Park on Saturday but if Morgan does sign he won’t be able to play in the match.
