Despite the National League confirming that fixtures would go ahead as planned, the Heed have revealed that members of the club’s first-team staff are in “precautionary self-isolation” after visiting Harrogate Town for an Under-19 Alliance fixture earlier this week.

The Yorkshire outfit announced earlier this week that members of their own staff are in self-isolation and their National League fixture against Solihull Moors that was scheduled for Friday night has now been postponed.

In a statement released on the club website, Gateshead said: “Gateshead Football Club are taking the precautionary measures which have been recommended by Her Majesty’s Government, and members of staff who travelled will now be under precautionary self-isolation.

“As a result, Saturday’s fixture at Haig Avenue has unfortunately been postponed, and any further updates regarding future fixtures will be communicated in due course.”
