SUNDERLAND and Middlesbrough will tonight discover who their FA Cup fourth round opponents will be.
Gus Poyet’s Black Cats safely made it into the velvet bag for the draw after overcoming Leeds United 1-0 at the Stadium of Light.
Patrick van Aanholt’s first goal in Sunderland colours proved enough and they have been given ball number 17.
Premier League big boys Arsenal, Manchester United, Manchester City and Chelsea all made it safely through and Poyet will be keen to avoid them.
Aitor Karanka’s Middlesbrough, meanwhile, beat Barnsley away 2-0 thanks to goals from Jelle Vossen and Daniel Ayala.
Sheffield United - who beat QPR 3-0 in the third round - and Rochdale knocked out two-time winners Nottingham Forest to make it into the draw.
The draw for the fourth round - which is live on BBC One and Radio 5 live - takes place tonight at Kingsmeadow at 7.30pm.
The numbers will be drawn by Wimbledon’s 1988 Cup final goalscorer Lawrie Sanchez and Kingstonian Women’s Under-18s head coach Stef Loucaides.
