Ex-Sunderland keeper signs for Charlton after Barnsley exit

CHARLTON have completed the signing free agent goalkeeper Ben Alnwick.

The 26-year-old had his contract with Barnsley terminated by mutual consent before Monday’s transfer deadline and has agreed a one-year deal at The Valley.

Alnwick, who has also played for Sunderland and Tottenham, will provide competition for current Addicks number one Ben Hamer and should be in the squad to face Watford next Saturday.

Meanwhile, Charlton are also expected to announce the signing of former Crystal Palace youngster Kadell Daniel.

READING have held talks with Mohamed Sissoko over a potential switch to the Madejski Stadium.

The former Liverpool and Juventus midfielder, 28, is available as a free agent after being released by Paris St Germain this week.
