Oddies showed no mercy in a 12-1 derby demolition of neighbours Farringdon Detached as they climbed into third place in the table.

Michael Bulmer maintained his impressive goalscoring record with a five-goal salvo to lead Oddies home, backed by four from Luke Taylor.

Martin Thompson (2) and sub Darren Liddle also got in on the act in Oddies’ 14th victory in 19 league games. Aaron Clasper bagged the visitors’ consolation, with Keiran Thompson star man.

They trail top spot by 14 points but have five matches in hand.

Durham City Reserves strengthened their title tilt with a 2-0 home victory over challengers Hall Farm.

The Sunderland side put up a great fight, but a well-taken double from Kyle Patton won the day for City, whose star man was Callum Patton. Scott Seldon stood out in defeat for Hall Farm.

The win took City 12 points clear of closest rivals Coundon & Leeholme, who have three games in hand.

Sixth-placed Sherburn Village WMC enjoyed a match-winning brace from sub Chris Young as they secured all three points from their trip to Blackhill & Ebchester.

Star man Danny Castro and Daniel Parker notched for Blackhill, but prolific marksman Glenn Hendrix, Alex Hird and two-goal sub Young saw Sherburn home 4-2.

Brandon United Development eased to a comprehensive 4-0 victory at pointless bottom club Seaham New Westlea.

Adam Burnham, MacAuley Ashton, Jay Balfour and sub David Fort all notched, with Shaun Wilson starring.

Sunderland University were pipped 2-1 by visitors Killingworth YPC in a close-fought clash, with Michael Parr and Lee Isbister on target against the battling students.

On Monday night, Farringdon Detached put up a good fight in a 1-0 defeat at Redcar Town, with Adam Cheung scoring. Aaron Clasper shone for Farra.

Coundon & Leeholme cruised to a 6-2 success at Bishop Auckland Hogans in the Auckland Charity Cup second round.

Four-goal man of the match Wayne Whitfield stole the show, supported by strikes from Paul Bailes and sub Mark Wood.

Hartlepool Reserves progressed into the Durham Minor Cup final, edging home 3-1 on penalties after a 1-1 extra-time draw with Crook Wanderers.

Reece Ogilvie had Crook on top, but an own goal levelled it up.

In the final, Pool will meet another Crook and District League side, Wear Valley, who beat Gateshead Redheugh 2-0 at Willington with a John Liddle 30-yarder and a Scott Brown strike.
