Belford House and Silksworth forced into changes for the Wearside League clash

Have your say

IT’s all change for Ashbrooke Belford House and Silksworth when they meet in the Wearside League tonight.

Ashbrooke Manager Tommy Dobbing reports that although Martin Deacon cannot play, he is hopeful of Lewis Hutchinson, Chris Charlton and Keiron Moore being added to his squad.

His counterpart Steven Smith is not nearly so fortunate with 10 players definitely out and a further three need fitness tests.

Michael Renshaw, Jonathan Fox and John McLean are injured while Chris Quamby, Richard Maughan, Mark Robinson, Michael Ashmore, Andrew Bowes, James Heppinstall and Trevor Todd are also sidelined.

Smith will check on the fitness of Adam Golightly, Calvin Magnus and Kevin Golightly shortly before kick-off.

Fortunately, Dean Hannah, Paul Carr, Ryan Mather and David McKinley are available.

“It’s been the story of the campaign. Week in, week out, I’ve had to chop and change but even so we did reach our pre-season target of 30 points at the weekend and I’m hoping to end on a high,” said Smith.

Leaders Ryhope CW, who won the Monkwearmouth Charity Cup on Monday, are without a fixture and will anxiously await the outcome of Easington Colliery’s game at second-from-bottom Prudhoe Town.

The Wearsiders and the Colliers are neck and neck with Martin Swales’ side ahead only on goals difference. The sides have identical playing records.

A win for Jarrow would enable them to leapfrog Redcar Athletic into fifth place. Boss Dave Bell has injury concerns for Liam Clarke (hamstring) and Kyle Pendergood (hip).

Daryl Turnbull will not play again this season but Daryl Donnelly is expected to make his comeback from a knee injury.

“The heavy schedule has taken its toll and I had to draft in a couple of under-21s at the weekend. We’ve still got six games to play and we are going to be stretched,” declared Bell.

Redcar add goalkeeper Scott Allison, Steve Thompson and Liam Wood to their squad.

Hartlepool host Cleator Moor Celtic pleased that goalkeeper Phil Wilson has recovered from a broken wrist. Also named are Craig Hutchinson, Carl Wood, Chris Archer and Marc Ellison but Mattie Thomas and Colin McCullough are unfit.

Boldon CA are at Willington who have Mitchell Sowerby back from a ban but Michael Weston and Paul Thorns are both doubtful.
