Controversial Newcastle United owner Mike Ashley (pictured, left) is rumoured to be considering a 350 million bid from the Sheikh Khaled-fronted Bin Zayed Group.
Sunderland owner Stewart Donald (pictured) bought the North East club last summer but is already reportedly seeking fresh investment and could sell his majority stake to businessman Mark Campbell.
According to the Yorkshire Evening Post, the club is not for sale despite further reports suggesting that Nasser Al-Khelaifi's Qatar Sports Investment are trying to purchase the club.
Al-Khelaifi has previously been linked with a takeover of Midlands club Aston Villa which is currently owned by Tony Xia (pictured) and Nassef Sawiris.
Paris Saint-Germains owners were also, according to some reports, eyeing a takeover of Championship Nottingham Forest owned by Evangelos Marinakis (pictured).
QPR were the fourth club, behind the aforementioned trio, on Al-Khelaifi's takeover list. The London club is owned by Lakshmi Mittal (pictured) and Ruben Gnanalingam.
After a week of negotiations Neil Pinkerton's take over of the National League club has been rubber-stamped - the 36-year-old is in joint ownership with local businessman Trevor Clark.

The same US stockbroker linked with Sunderland, Mark Campbell, has also been linked with a takeover of Scottish club Falkirk. However, the businessman is likely to opt for the North East.
Financially stricken Bolton were in talks with former Watford owner Laurence Bassini, but the deal failed as the required proof of funds to complete the takeover was not produced.

The club is in receivership and it's being sold to pay off Owen Oyston's debt to Valeri Belokon. Simon Sadler, Henry Teh, Andy Pilley and Huw Jenkins have all been linked. The club are expecting new owners to be installed this month.
