Wearmouth cruised to a six-wicket victory over Boldon in the battle of the top two in the DCB U15 League’s North East Division.
Lewis Smillie (3-9) and Lewis Thompson (3-24) stole the show as Boldon were skittled for 63 in 14 overs, despite Daniel Wales’s knock of 20 and 13 from Oliver Hughes.
J. McGonnell was unbeaten on 28, supported by Jamie Patterson (13) and Ben Young (12no) as Wearmouth won in 17.1 overs to go 20 points clear of their rivals.
Whitburn outgunned Felling by 72 runs.
Elliott Hearn retired on 50 as the Villagers posted 138-1, backed by Ben Hutchinson (48no) and Adam Downey (27no), then Oliver Coates bagged 2-8 as Felling managed just 66-5 in reply.
In the South East Division, Ryhope enjoyed a 10-wicket success against Murton.
Josh Greenfield (21) and Tyler Marley (14) top-scored in Murton’s 70 all out as Carr grabbed 4-1 in 2.4 overs, supported by two wickets apiece from Kirtley and Watts.
Watts (49no) and Vaughan (19no) then hurried Ryhope to victory in 10.3 overs.
Castle Eden defeated Peterlee by eight wickets to go joint top with Seaham Harbour.
Kieran Allison (40) and Alex Langley (24) helped Peterlee to 114-6, but Lewis Simpson (49no) and Unsworth (48no) steered Castle Eden home after being 20-2.
Hetton Lyons went down by 31 runs to leaders Chester-le-Street in the Central Division.
Luke Allen (50no), Luke Hawkins (31) and Ollie Barrett (19) helped Chester make 126-5 before Lyons struggled to 95-9 as Aaradhya Tiwari bagged 3-25.
Logan Barton (28), Sam Riddle (21), Tom Lawson (16) and Miles Birbeck (13) led Lyons.
Second-top Eppleton secured a 10-wicket victory over visitors Burnmoor, who reached 109-2 in 20 overs thanks to Lewis Hallam (31no), Rowell (47no) and Christian Henderson.
Layla Tipton (49no, with nine fours) and Jake Pratt (40no, with four fours and a six) both carried their bats to see the Church Road side home with 16 balls to spare.
