SCOTT Steel stole the show as Durham Cricket Board Under-15s proved too strong for Northumberland in the ECB County Cup at Annfield Plain.

Skipper Jake Louth won the toss and elected to bat, with Durham posting a magnificent score of 246-6 from 50 overs.

The first wicket fell with the score being only 28, as Matthew Potts was dismissed for only 10. Potts was replaced by Louth, who hit 53, backed by 51 from Ross Greenwell.

However, Durham City batter Steel led the way, hitting an unbeaten 92, including six fours and six sixes in only 71 balls.
