Shaw thing for Seaham Harbour U18s

SEAHAM Harbour restricted Peterlee to 65-8 in the Durham Cricket Board U18s South East Division, Daniel Ford bagging 3-6, then Dale Shaw’s unbeaten half-century sealed a seven-wicket triumph.

Ryhope overwhelmed Castle Eden by eight wickets, Tomlin hitting 40 after Dick took 4-21 to dismiss Castle Eden for 58.

In the Central Division’s Fred Blunt Trophy, Jack McBeth (93) and Adam Dawson (55) earned Hetton Lyons a match-winning 153-2, before Sacriston were restricted to 129-4, though Jack Hardy hit a brilliant 89.

Burnmoor saw off Washington by 16 runs, after making 120-2, thanks largely to Wright (70no) and Walker (35). Darren Geeringh’s 37 top-scored as Washington responded with 104-5.

* Eppleton overcame neighbours South Hetton by 101 runs in the NEPL Cup, setting up a quarter-final trip to Seaham Harbour. Eppleton made 138-2, helped by Layla Tipton (25no) and Jake Pratt (18), as Tony Walton and George Stoker took the wickets to fall.

South Hetton struggled to 47-7, with Jack Weightman (12) top-scoring as Ty Wilkinson picked up 2-13.
