Fifth-placed Sunderland have a good opportunity to make up ground on the teams above them in Division One when they welcome Burnmoor to Ashbrooke on Saturday (1pm start).
Sunderland skipper Greg Applegarth said: “We have an unchanged team for our game at home against the team who are second in the league at the moment.”
The Ashbrooke outfit need to keep winning games and this is the perfect chance to close the gap at the top.
Brandon, in third place, entertain Gateshead Fell and captain Chris Peareth said: “This week Gordon Muchall is missing due to holiday, so Lewis Newby comes in after scoring well in the second team. Every game is like a cup final now, as we chase other teams fighting for the title.”
Struggling Boldon are at home to fourth-top Castle Eden.
Sunderland Road captain Chris Ellison said: “Our team will most likely be the same as last weekend, with no expected changes.
“We’re struggling at the minute and desperately need to pick up some points.
“We normally play a bit better at home, so that could be an advantage.
“We just want to give it a go and hopefully get something from the game.”
South Shields entertain Washington at Wood Terrace, with both teams looking for a much-needed win, to push themselves away from the dreaded relegation zone.
The visitors should be fresh after a weekend off, while Shields have won two of their last four outings, including an impressive four-wicket win at Willington last week.
Willington head to leaders Burnopfield, who ake two changes this week, with Durham bowler Gavin Main and Gareth Breese coming back in and replacing Neil Killeen.
Bottom club Blaydon have the weekend off.
