Durham Seconds secured two fine T20 wins over Yorkshire at Brandon yesterday, with Phil Mustard in imperious batting form.
In the opener, Sunderland-born Mustard and Stuart Poynter both made 29 in Durham’s 121-9, with England’s David Willey grabbing two wickets.
Yorkshire were then skittled for 98, going down by 23 runs, as Usman Arshad bagged 3-17, backed by two wickets apiece from Josh Coughlin and Gurman Randhawa.
In the second game, Mustard stole the show with a brilliant 104 off 57 balls as Durham posted 205-3, aided by Adam Hickey (36) and Calum MacLeod (40).
It was the perfect boost for Mustard ahead of tonight’s NatWest T20 Blast first-team game against Nottinghamshire Outlaws at the Emirates Riverside.
Willey battered 108 from 45 balls in the Tykes’ response, but they fell short on 191-5. Randhawa took 2-16.
