Kyle Davis hit an astonishing 196 not out to steer Eppleton into the Banks Salver semi-finals yesterday.

NEPL Premier Division side Newcastle posted a daunting 339-6, with Graham Clark and Ben McGee both firing centuries, in a game reduced to 43 overs, but Davis hit 18 fours and 11 sixes in an astonishing 139-ball assault to lead Eppleton home by five wickets, backed by Dean Musther (50) and Craig Scurr (46no) off the penultimate ball.

Seaham Harbour fell nine runs short of victory in a gallant display against Blaydon, with Jack Lacey grabbing 3-40 and Nilkanth Parab firing 57 runs.

Tudhoe stunned Chester-le-Street with a six-wicket win, while Tynemouth thumped South Shields.
