Sunderland Under-18s cruised to a nine-wicket victory over Sacriston in the Durham Cricket Board’s Central Division Fred Blunt Trophy’s Group One.
Matthew Brown (36) top-scored in Sacriston’s 62 all out as Callum Hutchinson (3-12), Joseph Stewart (1-13), Jamie Hair (3-15) and Joe Defty (3-20) starred with the ball.
Jack Johnson (24no), Hutchinson (24) and Stewart (13no) steered Sunderland home in 13.5 overs.
Chester-le-Street beat Philadelphia by 78 runs in Group Two.
Luke Allen (62no) and Scott Robson (37) took Chester to 126-2 before Phili fell well short on 48-9.
In the John Lowery Trophy, Ryhope lost by 34 runs to Peterlee, who made 156-2, thanks to Buck (48), Sam Garraghan (41) and Kieran Allison (27no).
