Hetton Lyons U15s triumph again

Have your say

Hetton Lyons U15s have added the Glenn Robinson Memorial Trophy to their Durham Senior League Cup success.

In the final at Philadelphia, Chester-le-Street batted first and got off to a good start with Josh Wilson (28), Liam O’Connor (35) and Stephen Cantwell (53) scoring at an excellent rate.

However, Lyons hit back with Alex Storey (4-21) and Jack McBeth (2-28) limiting Chester-le-Street to 143 all out.

In reply, Lyons made a steady start before Jack McBeth was dismissed in controversial circumstances for 14 before Sean Tindale and Adam Dawson (21) took them close to the finish line before the latter was dismissed.

Tindale, however, carried his bat to finish 54 not out and was awarded the man-of-the-match award as Lyons won by seven wickets.
