Durham Under-13s Miles better in friendly showdown

Durham County Under-13s outgunned Cumbria by 127 runs in a one-sided friendly at Barnard Castle.

Cumbria won the toss and put Durham into bat, with the home side posting a big score of 212-8 from 40 overs.

Miles Birbeck top-scored with an unbeaten 43, batting at eight, backed by 30 from Lewis Williams and 29 from Ben Keating.

Birbeck then shone with the ball for Durham, picking up five wickets the loss of only six runs, taking out Cumbria’s top four batters, while James Hindmarch cleaned up to take 4-21 from six overs.
