Whiteleas managed to extend their advantage in second place in the Readers Durham Cricket League’s Division Two on a rain-ruined Saturday.
The Tynesiders secured an extra point on their promotion rivals when they had Silksworth 26-3 when the rain brought an early end. Whiteleas now hold a 17-point lead in second place, ahead of challengers Marsden and Peterlee.
Littletown, who are 33 points clear at the top, had visitors Peterlee 36-1, with David Craig 15 not out. Marsden were 64-0 at Houghton, with Colin Mann (33no) and Jacques Porter (28no) shining.
Only two games got started in Division One. Dawdon, in second place, took a point more than leaders Burnopfield.
The Green Drive outfit had Bill Quay 29-2 to secure six points but remain 64 points adrift. Horden were 80-1 against Esh Winning, with Adam Dixon 33no.
