DURHAM Cricket Board Under-12s overcame the county’s Under-11s twice – in two friendlies at Annfield Plain.

In the opening game, the U12s posted 114-2 in 20 overs,

helped by Castle Eden’s Ben Simpson hitting an unbeaten 52 from 45 balls, backed by Joseph Linton’s 37.

Daniel Pratt and Ethan Dixon picked up the only wickets to fall.

The U11s lost four wickets for 30, with none of the top four reaching double figures. William Barnham top-scored with an unbeaten 18, backed by 15 from Dixon, helped them to 65-4 for a 49-run defeat.

Lewis Simpson, Ellis Horner and Ryan Goldsmith all struck.

In the second game, the U12s totalled 90-5, with Simpson’s 43 from 55 balls, backed by Horner (15).

The U11s fell 30 runs short, being bowled out for just 60. Mitchell Killeen top-scored with 21, while Adam I’Anson picked up four wickets for 11 runs and Sam Marshall bagged 3-17.
