Thomas Essomba will fight Waleed Din on Saturday, October 17, for the Commmonwealth flyweight championship in Rotherham.
The unbeaten Sunderland star has racked up four straight wins since signing for Phil Jeffries.
I have every confidence Thomas will be bringing the Commonwealth title back to Sunderland.
Essomba will be the underdog next month against the Sheffield boxer who is also undefeated after seven straight victories.
Jeffries is optimistic of success but has still got the 27-year-old a warm-up at Dunston this Saturday.
The two-time Olympian will face Mikheil Soloninkini, from Georgia, over four rounds at the Lancastrian Suite.
“I have every confidence Thomas will be bringing the Commonwealth title back to Sunderland,” said Jeffries.
“I think a little tick-over job will help so that’s why he’s got Soloninkini this Saturday.
“Thomas is the best flyweight out there and it will be all systems go for October 17 once Saturday is out of the way.”
Also on Saturday’s bill, unbeaten Seaham prospect Jordan Ellison goes in with Northumberland’s Lewis Ritson, who also boasts a 100 per cent record.
Isaac Macleod takes on Luke Keleher, while Jonson McClumpha is matched with Kieran Gray.
Tommy Ward takes on African champ Nasibu Ramadhani over 10 rounds, with brother Martin tackling Nicaraguan Arnoldo Solano.
