Sunderland Amateur Boxing Club’s big prospect Kiaran Macdonald has been selected to represent England at the Youth Commonwealth Games in Samoa.

Kiaran, who is employed as a refrigerator engineer for Climate Control, proved he is number one in Britain by winning the Youth ABA title, followed by the GB Tri- Nation title
Success in Samoa could see Kiaran selected for the British senior boxing squad.
That elite group of boxers work towards major championships around the world.
He is hoping to follow in the footsteps of previous Sunderland ABC fighters who competed at the top level, including Tony Jeffries, Warren Baister and Isaac Mcleod.
