BOXER Jordan King has a change of opponent for tonight’s big show at the Metro Radio Arena, but there is no change in focus as he aims for an impressve win.
The Hetton star carries the Wearside flag tonight in Newcastle, where he will meet Iain Jackson over six rounds.
King, with four straight wins to his credit, had been due to face Jamie Ambler, the experienced Welsh fighter set to provide a step-up for the 22-year-old.
Ambler, though, pulled out and the unbeaten light-heavy now has the seasoned campaigner Jackson in the opposite corner.
The 36-year-old, from Brighton, has won only four times and is in the journeyman bracket, but that won’t deter King as he looks to shine in front of a massive arena crowd and in front of promoter Eddie Hearn.
“The main thing is I am just glad I am on the show,” he told the Echo. “Ambler has pulled out late and it was a relief they got Jackson to come in. To be honest, the name does not matter, I’ll just be going out the same way. It’s a huge show and I’ll be looking to box well and impress.”
