The 23-year-old will have a six-round fight at Temple Park on a Steve Wraith-promoted show on Saturday, October 12.

It will be his first contest since suffering his first professional defeat last month when he was outpointed by Mitch Smith for the vacant English super-featherweight title in London.

The Gus Robinson Developments star will be joined on the bill by brother, Daniel, and fellow team-mate Anth Hardy, who have both began their careers with 100 per cent records.

Head coach Peter Cope Snr said: “It’s just about getting him back in there again.

“After losing in London, Peter had a break and a holiday which is what he needed.

“We’ve been in the gym for a couple of weeks, just getting back into it and we’ll start properly next month – there is still seven weeks to go before the bout.

“He’s come back with the right attitude, which has not surprised me.

“Other chances will come for him I’m confident of that, it’s now about getting a win and taking it from there.

“Peter wants six rounds and he’s after someone decent, he doesn’t want a journeyman.”

Daniel Cope and Hardy will have four-rounders as they continue their professional development.

Both turned pro in the early summer of 2013, though injury has restricted Daniel to just one contest while Hardy has reeled off five straight wins in the intervening period.

Daniel had a great debut at the Stadium of Light at the Summer Rumble last month, beating Scotland’s JP McGuinness over six exciting rounds.

Hardy extended his 100 per cent record at Sunderland’s football ground though in less convincing fashion with an unconvincing points success over Jamie Zaszlos.
