Future’s bright for Craig

Have your say

SUNDERLAND-trained boxer Craig Nicholson has won his third professional fight in a row.

The Gateshead super-middleweight, trained by Tommy Conroy, beat Scott Westgarth of Sheffield over the course of three four-minute rounds at the weekend.

Nicholson found the going difficult in the first round but won the next three to make it a relatively comfortable points victory in the end.

Conroy said: “It was a good win by Craig under the circumstances and he remains unbeaten.

“He’s still only 24 and he could have a good future in the sport.”
