HOUGHTON Harrier Steve Todner grabbed a golden treble in the North East Masters’ track and field championships at Monkton on Saturday.
Competing in the over-60 age group, he won the 100m (13.9sec), 200m (27.8) and 400m (63.8).
Sunderland Harrier road man Jim Wightman has this season discovered the track, and he was rewarded by winning two medals in the over-65 age group. The double came in winning the 800m (2min 52.8sec) and the silver medal in the 400m (78.5).
George Harden also won two medals, finishing second in the over-50 1500m (4.48.7) and third in the 800m (2.16.3). His 1500m time was a club over-50 record.
Sunderland clubmate Anna Harris was first in the over-40 long jump (3.49m) and third in both the 200m (30.7) and 100m (14.5)
Houghton’s Gillian Tomlinson finished second in the over-45 200m (32.6) and third in the 100m (15.4).
