Police arrest two men after threats made in milkmen row in Sunderland street

Northumbria Police received a report of a disturbance shortly after 3.30am yesterday, Tuesday, March 17 on Hylton Lane, Sunderland.

It was reported that two men and a teenager on two separate milk floats had a disagreement in the street before threats were made to each other.

Two men, aged 49 and 40 were arrested in connection with the incident.

Nobody is believed to have been injured.

A Northumbria Police spokesperson said: “Shortly after 3.30am yesterday (Tuesday) we received a report of a disturbance on Hylton Lane, Sunderland.

“It was reported that two men and a teenager on two separate milk floats had a disagreement in the street with threats made to each other. Nobody was injured.

“Two men – aged 49 and 40 – were arrested in connection with the incident and have since been released on police bail.

“Enquiries are ongoing into the nature of the disturbance and anyone with information is asked to contact police via the ‘Tell Us Something’ page of our website or by calling 101 quoting log 70 160321."

Both men have since been released on bail.
