Win a vegan meal for two with drinks at Sunderland's No2 Church Lane

A city centre burger bar is hosting a special Vegan Day - and you could be there for free.

No2 Church Lane, opposite Sunderland Empire already has a substantial vegan menu, which runs alongside its meatier options, but has decided to host a Vegan Day on Bank Holiday Sunday, May 6.

A spokesman from the bar said: “With the number of vegans in the UK rising to 3.5million, we’re celebrating with a special Vegan Day on Bank Holiday Sunday. We already have already a number of options for vegans, which are popular.”

The winner will receive a three-course meal for two, including vegan-friendly beers or cocktails, worth up to £50.

The extended vegan menu for the day will include starters, such as mock duck salad and tomato mozzarella salad and mains such as mushroom pizza burger, vegan parmo burger and special vegan chia nuggets.

For desserts the restaurant and bar will be offering options such chocolate orange tart, vegan fruity flapjack and lemon swirl cheesecake.
