Where are Sunderland's Remembrance Sunday parades and which roads will be closed?

Drivers have been reminded that some roads will be closed as Wearside and County Durham hold Remembrance Sunday parades this weekend.

Here's where and when you could have to find an alternate route on Sunday, while roads are closed for communities to pay their respects to their fallen.

Sunderland City Centre: Burdon Road & Park Road, 9.30am-2pm - access to Civic Car Park from Park Lane only after this point. The parade starts at 10.30am and will arrive at the cenotaph for an 11am service.

Castletown: 10am start from the Community Centre. The parade will go from Ethel Terrace – Oswald Terrace West – Castle View (short service) – Hylton Castle Road (short service) -Grange Road to Community Centre.

Silksworth: 10.30am start from Royal British Legion – Wynyard Street – Blind Lane – Recreation Park (short service) – Blind Lane - Wynyard Street – Royal British Legion.

Houghton: 9.45am start from Co-op Car Park – Newbottle Street – The Broadway – St Michael’s Church (service) return to Co-op via the same route – end 11.30am.

Easington Lane: 10.30am start from Easington Lane Independent Methodist Church – Brick Garth – High Street – Clock Tower - end 11.15am.

Fatfield: 10.45am Scout parade from Duxbury Park – cenotaph – end 11.30am.

Washington Village: 10am start from Our Lady RC Church – cenotaph – end 12pm.

Fencehouses: 10.40am start at British Legion Club – Britannia Terrace – Front Street – Chilton Moor Memorial Garden (short service). Parade to return.

South Hylton: 2.15pm start at Tansey Centre – Church Street – High Street – Primrose Street – Albion Street – Cambria Street – Union Street – High Street to war memorial.

Ryhope: Service starts 10am at St Pauls Church, church path leads out onto Ryhope Road South (B1286), turn left, heading towards Stockton Road, turn left at traffic lights, towards Ryhope Village Green, where people gather for service.

Horden Colliery: 10.30am to noon., A1086 rolling road closure, Seventh Street - South Terrace - Sunderland Road - Coast Road - Blackhills Road.

Easington Colliery: 10.30am-10.45am and 11.45am-12.15pm. B1283 Seaside Lane - Memorial Avenue - Crawlaw Road.

Peterlee: 10.30am-11am and 11.20am-12.15pm, B1320 rolling road closure, Surtees Road - Yoden Way roundabout - St Cuthbert's Road - Manor Way.

Chester-le-Street: 9.45am-11.15am, C183/C184 Church Chare - High Chare - Front Street - South Burns.

Durham City: 10am-1.30pm, Owengate - Saddler Street - Market Place - Claypath (11.30am-1.30pm).
