A recent survey has revealed we would miss our local pub more than the park, the post office, the bank and the library, if it were to leave our high street.

The pub has also been ranked as the third most important local amenity, only beaten by the corner shop and doctor’s surgery.

Some pubs have also gone to extreme lengths to demonstrate their community role, inviting local businesses to operate from the pub for a day to encourage people to visit.
