A missing Sunderland grandfather has been found safe and well.

Graeme Chapman went missing on Thursday after he dropped his wife off at work at Sunderland Royal Hospital at about 8.30am.

Son Ben, 26, set up a Facebook appeal to try and find the 52-year-old.

However, the grandfather from High Barnes was found safe and well in Scotland last night.

Ben said: "Dad has been found alive and well in Scotland. He'll be checked out up there and returned to us. Thanks for the help and support from everyone, it is much appreciated. Won't have the time to thank everyone individually but please know everything is massively appreciated."
