An inquest into the death of a baby who was mauled by a family dog has been put back due to a further review.
Reggie Young was just 20 days old when he was killed by Lakeland Terrier cross Tricky at his home in Falkland Road, Ford Estate, in June 2015.
Reggie's father Ryan Young was jailed for 21 months at Newcastle Crown Court earlier this month after pleading guilty to being the owner of a dog which caused injury resulting in death whilst dangerously out of control.
At Sunderland Coroner's Court, assistant coroner Karin Welch said that she was unable to conclude the hearing while another case was ongoing.
"The proceedings in one of these venues has been concluded, but not in another.
"It is inappropriate for me to process the inquest at this time.
"I propose to adjourn this inquest for a further review on November 1 at 10am."
