Proud bosses at a Sunderland housing firm have praised the Best of Wearside Awards - and they are on board again this year as a partner sponsor.

Gentoo has come on board as a partner sponsor in the annual awards which look to recognise outstanding people across Wearside.

This year Gentoo is lending its support to the Community Champion category of the awards and said it is excited to be a part of rewarding those who go the extra mile in their communities.

Executive director Michelle Meldrum said: “Once again, we are delighted to support the Best of Wearside awards. At Gentoo we are committed to building strong communities and we engage with the local community on a regular basis through events, volunteering and partnership working.”

Michelle exlained why the awards were so important in the area.

“People who give their time and dedication to life-changing projects really deserve to be recognised and these awards are a great way to reward those who have gone the extra mile. We are proud to sponsor the Community Champion category and we look forward to hearing about individuals and projects that have made a significant impact in our communities.”

This year’s Best of Wearside Awards have been backed by partner sponsors Gentoo and category sponsors Calsonic Kansei.
