A whopping 16,000 people have taken to their seats to enjoy the region’s newest cinema.
Since it opened a month ago, Cineworld in Dalton Park has welcomed a huge crowd to its seven screens.
The business is part of the £45million phase two development at the former pit site in Murton, with a host of new restaurants serving up to visitors, with more businesses including a hotel and pub yet to open.
The cinema has shown more than 800 screenings of 31 films, resulting in 72,000 minutes of entertainment for residents.
To date, over 7,000 drinks have been consumed and a huge 190,000 kernels of popcorn have been popped and served to guests.
General manager Nick Bashford said: “Over 16,000 people have come through our doors to experience Cineworld Dalton Park since opening last month and we’re absolutely thrilled with the response so far.”
