TIME is running out to sign up for a thrilling chance to raise funds for charity.
The deadline to register for Foundation of Light’s second ‘Zip Wear’ expires on Monday.
Taking place on October 13 and 14, the event will see participants ride a zip line from the roof of the Stadium of Light, travelling for a distance of around 250 metres at up to 25 miles per hour across the River Wear, landing 45 metres below on the opposite bank at Liebherr Cranes.
Places are limited to 180 participants per day. Registration is £20 to guarantee a place and participants are required to raise at least £100 in sponsorship, payable at the latest by November 30. Alternatively, places can be bought outright for £120, with all money raised going to the Foundation of Light and Help for Heroes, leaving participants free to raise additional funds for the charity of their choice.
The Foundation’s Phil King said: “The last time we ran this event we had people calling on the day begging to take part.
“Unfortunately, due to safety procedures, we need to pre-register all participants so I’d urge all those who think they’d like to take part to get in touch now”
Those interested in taking part in the event should contact Jennifer Smith at the foundation on 551 5153 or e-mail email@example.com.
