Unit is great loss to city

Have your say

I feel strongly about the services of our breast care treatment being moved or fragmented to other hospitals, when we have a perfectly good and reliable service within Sunderland Royal Hospital.

It saddens me to see these services being moved to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital at Gateshead, and outlining areas such as Durham and Newcastle.

I can’t believe we should allow this to happen. Why is Sunderland having difficulty in replacing consultants when other hospitals appear not to have a problem employing them, and when we’ve never had a problem before? We need to encourage and support Sunderland Royal by employing more consultants and thus maintaining our service.

Why had the Trust allowed the consultants to reduce in numbers to one.
