Response was just amazing

Members of the Rotary Club of Seaburn recently completed their Santa Sleigh evening tours of the Fulwell, Seaburn and Roker areas bringing Christmas wishes to all ages and collecting for charity.

The members also held charity collections at Morrisons (Seaburn) and Clays Garden Centre.

As in previous years the response of people in the areas toured, and the customers of the two stores, was enthusiastic and generous. Because of the money donated we will be able to support several local charities in the coming year.

Seaburn Club members express their thanks to all who supported our collections and to the management of Clays and Morrisons for affording the opportunity to attend the stores.

This year we were astonished by the number of children wanting to meet with and talk to Santa.

It was due to this high demand that we were not able to complete our advertised routes.

Because of this we are aware that many children did not get the chance to meet Santa.

We can only apologise for this and we will do our best to see it does not happen next year.

Peter Calvert,

President Rotary Seaburn
