I have just been reading the letter from John Bryant regarding gulls (August 6).
I was attacked about three years ago on my way to New Look in Sunderland. It hit me on the head making me stumble, and a friend of mine, who works at New Look, was also attacked and her face was marked.
I was walking down the path where the leisure centre used to be and a man was throwing bread to them, there were loads.
I said: “no, please don’t do that.”
He laughed and asked why as he did it all the time. I told him he would have problems with the police if he continued but he still threw the bread. I think a notice should be put up in that area and fines issued if the people don’t comply.
