Herrington Country Park Festival not such a good idea

The idea of having events taking place on Herrington Park seemed like a good idea at the time, but the issue of money seems to take first place.

Car parking fees – to charge £10 to see the music festival was a disgrace, who is going to pay when you can park in streets opposite the park, and was selling beer really necessary?

Another issue was where was the policing.

I cannot recall seeing one police officer over the three days.

On two occasions I had to use my car to go out only to find my space was gone and I had to park 300 yards away with my car out of sight.

All of the residents had this problem.

Thanks to the council being greedy, if they insist on overcharging car parking, we will be wanting parking permits given and enforced by wardens being employed to keep our streets free.

I will gladly pay towards permits to stop this happening again.

If we had some police, they would have been able to stop people using the lane behind the Prospect pub as a toilet.

And who decided to put a funfair next to a very busy road, and 20 yards from houses? What was thes motive, money, again?

The noise I could hear from my allotment.

I hope this is not going to be a regular event as I will do my utmost to get it stopped.

Just to add, it is not the funfair I am against, it is where it was.

I cannot believe that the police and council let it be put where it was.
