Have your say

For many years I have been a great Sunderland fan, from the mid seventies from Roker Park to the Stadium of Light.

The famous Sunderland football players past and present includes the clown prince of soccer Len Shackleton, the player of the century Charlie Hurley, goal scoring machine Brian Clough, Ian Porterfield, Micky Horswill, Jermain Defoe, Dick Malone, Bobby Gurney, England star Terry Fletcher, Jimmy Montgomery, Raich Carter, Marco Gabbiadini, Colin Grainger, who used to be a British pop star, Basil Kichenbrand, Johnny Mapson, Gary Bennett, Len Ashurst, Bobby Kerr, Cecil Irwin, Colin Nelson, George Mulhall, Dickie Rooks, Frank Worthington, Albert Snell, Ritchie Pitt, Nicky Sharkey, Pop Robson, Gary Rowell, and the wonderful Sunderland managers from Alan Brown, Bob Stokoe, Denis Smith, Malcolm Crosby to Peter Reid, Sam Allardyce and David Moyes.

Sunderland won the F.A. Cup twice, 1937 and 1973, second division four times, 1963-64, 1975-76 and third division champions once 1988.

The great wonderful memories of Sunderland football club.
