With reference to the article in the Sunderland Echo on Thursday September 10 and the comment “Must Do Better”.
I feel that your headline is very harsh and could have been entitled much better.
My mother has been in Dovecote Meadow since June 8 this year and the care that she has received has been exemplary.
The carers do a very difficult and demanding job, working long hours, sometimes with dementia patients and by and large do a fantastic job.
Obviously, in a facility the size of Dovecote and its number of occupants standards are not always going to be 100%.
Okay, they can improve in some areas but which facility does not have areas of improvement?
Give them credit for the great job that they do under sometimes very difficult circumstances.
